Favourite Beer Brand?

I'm Canadian, so I go for Labbat's Blue, Molson Export, Molson Canadian etc.. I also like cheap beer for obvious reasons, Brava and Carling come to mind. What about you ?

still with the high school beers i see, bleh

Ugh, cheap is not the way to go my friend. I personally like Guinness, Shiner Bock, and hard ciders. The two best I have had are Woodchuck Cider and HardCore Cider. Both are quite yummy, although Woodchuck tastes more like a beer than the HardCore cider.

Stella Artois, Dos eques, Samuel Adams, Heineken, Fosters, and Corona. Don't like light beer ( tastes like backwash) cheap beer is ok as long as its full body and full of flavor.

if i have the money deffinately bud lite. if im going for high quantity and cheap. either busch lite, or keystone lite. very cheap, and also quite good :)

Miller High Life is me fav. It is cheap and nice. Need I say more?

Note: I always shoot a little Kanuck Koolaid(Canadian Mist) as a kicker. LOL

Molson Canadian in bottle form and Rickard's Red in lager.

Never liked beer...

Red Stripe Mon

Guinness all the way!

rouge or left hand or lagunitas are all great brands

(Far too) Sweet Vermouth?

My father is selling my childhood home that I lived in for 15 years. Whilst cleaning out my old room I found a bottle of sweet vermouth that had been sitting in my closet hiding space untouched for the past 5 years(I have been a big fan of Rob Roys since I was 13). I haven't any liquor in my apartment and upon tasting this bottle of vermouth found it intolerably sweet. I have no booze in my apartment, are there any household items I can mix with this to at least make it seem like I'm not drinking inebriated gummy bears?

Wow. That's a tough one. I only like sweet vermouth as a mixer (like in Manhattans). You might try diluting it with some sparkling water or maybe something acidic like orange or tomato juice.

Something chocolate...?

I'm going to the bar tonight and I have a serious chocolate craving. Anyone know of a good chocolaty bar drink that's fairly common/easy to make (just a local college bar)?

Thanks!

A Mudslide! There's a chocolate martini also or you could have a White Russian, it tastes like chocolate milk and is REALLY good!

CHOCOLATE MARTINI!!!!

It's amazing!

mixing sweets and strong drink are a bad idea....they tend to make you sick at the end of the night.

brandy alexander

mudslide....yummy.

What do these drinks taste like?

I'm in me 20s, and never had alcohol..So what do these drinks taste like?:

- White wine

- Red wine

- champagne

- beer

- lager

- whisky

- vodka

I will never have alcohol, but I just wanted to have a little idea..

Thanks!

- White wine, it tastes like vinegar to me never really liked it.

- Red wine - Nice, either a robust fruit flavour, or a "woody" deep flavour

- champagne - Never liked this unless its made into bucks fizz, fizzy vinegar

- beer - nice especially if you get a cask. It can be "creamy" and goes down easily

- lager - probably most common, not really a strong taste of anything, try a non alcoholic version and you will see.

- whisky - straight it is fiery and can burn going down, It is nice when mixed with coke or even water to take the "fire" out of it. I preferred bourbons like JD or Jim Beam they have a more palatable taste.

- vodka - Someone said fire water, that is probably correct. Again a mixer will take that away, and it will taste like a "warmed up" version of whatever mixer you choose to use.

You are probably better without alcohol in your life to be honest. So good for you.

Hope this helps

They're difficult to describe, except to compare them to other drinks, which is obviously of no use to you.

Have a smell of the drinks if a friend is drinking. Smell and taste are closely linked so you may get an idea that way.

- White wine-vinegar

- Red wine-headache

- champagne-fairy farts

- beer-blood

- lager-wee

- whisky-fire

- vodka-firey water

all of them are gross but vodka personally

only really one way to find out that is to try them , and not all on the same day .

Sorry to admit i like the taste of them all not in the same time

they all taste like **** tbh :o\

Where can I buy everclear around Omaha NE?

I would think just about any good liquor store should have it.

call around if you're 21, otherwise I guess you will have to drink your kool aid without it !!

come to nj they have everclear every where great **** i love it.

Doesn

do they taste the same

no way. It's just like anything else there are different recipes for each type of beer, some are stout, some bitter, some are sweet. If you're of age I suggest going to the cooler part of your liquor store and buying a six pack of a few different types of beers (not all a once of course) but that's the only way you're going to experience the variety. Try Samuel Adams Honey Wheat, Red Stripe, Guiness, just to start with and you'll quickly learn he difference. I like belgium pale ales probably the best, a little sweet and the taste good with a slice of orange instead of lime...mmm I also like Killians...it's a red adn it's good.

i think they do.

i prefer coors.

i dont really know why though. they all have the same basic taste.

Some beer's may favor but they all have their own taste.

No. If you think it does you need to try some more beer.

no not really some have a stronger yeasty taste..

that depends on how many you've drank

Have you ever had Joose?

It's really popular with kids at my high school, and they say it's really good. Have you ever tried it? How does it taste?

yeah i've tried it but i hated it and i'm a major alcohol lover and binge drinker

but it had a nasty taste to it

yuck

yes I've tried it but was vulgar!!

Why is beer so great?

It tastes good, makes you feel good, if you've had a bad day or something you can have a few and you feel better, i love it. why do you guys think beer is so great?

Beer is great because its something special. A person who works hard from nine to five deserves to get a beer at the end of the day for his hard troubles. Beer is the nectar of the Gods. All it took in the begginng was some guy letting fruit rot in some water he drank it and got drunk and he saw a sign. The sign that showed him salvation and something that could quench not just a regular thirst but the actual livelyhood of a person.

You cannot drench your problems away with beer. When You sober up guess what the problems are still there they didn't vanish it well only make it worse. You are headed toward alcoholism, a bad start. Iike beer it's good but I have to stay away so my family can have a better life, You can get awful mean when ya drink. My hubby and children mean a lot to me and our lives are much better. Get some help

i think beer i great because it chills us down in a scorching hot day. you dont need any glass or any ambience to drink beer...u just need to go to your fridge and the beer is yours. you can brink plenty of beer and enjoy the rest of the day..and defenately it tastes good to me..but m noe sure, many will agree on this taste thing!!!

I agree, beer is so great! it taste good, it makes you feel good, its good for you. its the water of life!

Beer does not taste very good, however I love how I feel after drinking it

Meat n veg in a can, mate, you cant get any better than that !

Tastes great and less filling

ewww beer is gross!Tequila all the way!

cause it just is. why do birds fly, they just do.

Patron or Vodka? what would sip on?

Patron all the way for me. or Sky Vodka or 151 why no? lol .....! mmm yummy!

No sipping her. Silver Patron. Shots with a chaser

Both sound pretty disgusting. I would prefer some Crown. Or even some cheap Canadian Whiskey would be better than patron. Patron is only popular because all the rappers drink it.....and they only drink it because it's expensive and painful to drink.

I would not sip either myself, a nice whiskey has better flavour in my opinion... but i dont like tequila and vodka is flavourless (alternatively a nice dark rum is good)

Neither. I gave up vodka in 1993. Now, it's Bourbon whiskey :):):)

Tastes good...

I like the flavor of vodka much better. I tried to get into Patron, but the taste completely turns me off.

patron.. i love tequila.

Whats the difference between Captain Morgan Rum and Captain Morgan Tattoo Rum?

Its darker, has a slightly sweeter, herbal taste.

tattoo has a wickedly cool looking bottle, but tastes nasty lol it kind of tastes like sweet but bad cough syrup. the regular captain morgan is my favorite (it still burns and tastes like a shot...but i dunno for some reason i love it. the flavor is just "regular")

Try Sailor Jerry's. It's the bomb! Parrot Bay Coconut is pretty good, too.

captain morgan tattoo is a dark rum and not that good.

Alternative to filter paper at home?

I am doing a project that calls for filter paper or coffee filter. Where I am there are no shops open at this time of day. Is there an alternative to filter paper than can be found in a common household? I was thinking of some fat paper towel, but it looked like it would be dissolved by the fluid.

most paper will dissolve

only alternatives at home would be some sort of cloth:

tea towels doubled up would probably be best, but other than that and fine cloth would probably work similar for basic liquid filtering.

I have no idea what you're up to -- but I have sometimes used either table napkins or paper towels as emergency coffee pot filters and they work fine. Dunno if they'll work for your little, um, project...

Question about fermenting beer?

In the fermenting vessel sugars are changed into two products.

One of these is alcohol (ethanol). Name the other product.

Thanks :)

Carbon dioxide, which in an aqueous solution is actually an acid called, carbonic acid.

Do not forget many aroma and flavor compounds are produced by yeast in the fermenting vessel also.

Carbon dioxide

Does anyone have an idea why i must drink so much beer doring the day and please don

Where do Red bull produce their products?

As in terms of location, factory etc?

I think the package says Switzerland.

Does rum go good with Mountain Dew?

I feel like drowning my sorrows in the bottle, so i might as well drown them in a tasty bottle :P

yes rum goes good with any soda but mountain dew it's great also try cherry coke with captain morgan.

OMG one night I was drinking Crown and vodka and I got COMPLETELY naked in my friend Sarah's bathroom LOL! I had these 2 guys in there and I wasn't letting them look because I was in the tub and they kept talking about how turned on they were and then they start taking their clothes off! LOL!

Then Sarah's dad busts in and tells the guys to get out and then HE starts taking HIS clothes off LOL.

So that's the story of how I lost Sarah as a friend :(

No. it's does not. fruit drinks that mix well with rum. exotic fruit. v8 splash go to the liquor store and get some mixers

Captain Morgan and Mt Dew tastes like cream soda.

Rum goes good with anything

I would think not, but I don't know

Why is Alcohol even legal?

there are so many deaths per year because of excessive alcohol--especially with drinking and driving. How in the world is Alcohol legal when marijuana and other drug, like ecstacy, illegal. I am never drinking alcohol, that%26#039;s for sure!

Because when they tried to make it illegal, things got very bad. Google %26quot;alcohol prohibition in the united states%26quot;. I agree with you, drinking is horrible!

ecstacy/ecstasy is far too unstable to be legalized. You legalize this and we will have young people dying and being raped at near unimaginable rates.

Alcohol is bad for a few and it is always a few that give most anything a bad name. When we consider those that drink in total, with those that drink but do stupid things, we find it is a small fractional group that are the irresponsible and selfish idiots that make alcohol a bad thing. It is the people by far that want alcohol to be legal. The prohibition of alcohol is a proven failure.

Last night I had a 12oz beer called Hennepin (a Belgian-style Saison by Ommegang), and then a 12oz beer called Loose Cannon (an American IPA by Clipper City).

The first was 7.5%ABV, the second 7.25%ABV. So this is really closer to 3 regular beers. I drank these over a two hour period, and did not drive. My BAC was approximately 0.05% when I finished drinking.

You%26#039;re telling me that this should be illegal?

I know!

But its those people that don%26#039;t over use it that people think about

in some parts of this world they use alcohol as a medicine

And for people who need to unwind a little bit

Its the terrible people that overuse it and are unresposible!

Good job!

They tried that in the 1920s. It actually caused more lawlessness and more people drank during that time.

What are some alcoholic drinks that aren

Distilled spirits and diet soda. This could be Bacardi or Jack and diet coke, Gin and diet tonic water, etc. A friend of mine was on a low carb diet and started drinking Bacardi and fruit punch flavored Crystal Light. He said it tasted like a Mai Tai.

Scotch I would say.

If you want something tastier, there's a drink they call 'irish car bomb', it's a shot of whiskey, a shot of Baileys and a Guinness beer

the best answer medically would be like vodka and soda water. thats what docs recommend to people who are borderline diabetic

The best one is absinthe. It's so alcoholic (125 proof) that a few swallows and you're blotto.

light beer, straight liquor on rocks w/-w/o water.

Whats the difference between vodka, whiskey, and beer?

All alcohol is produced by fermentation, which is a process that occurs in all living cells. Generally alcoholic beverages are produced by yeast, which consume sugar and produce alcohol. There is a limit on how high a concentration of alcohol can be produced by fermentation alone, because once there is too much alcohol it kills the yeast. To get higher concentrations of alcohol, you can distill after fermentation, which basically means removing some of the water.

Beer is produced by fermenting wort, which is basically grain that has been processed to convert its starches into sugars. It is not distilled, so it has a compartively low alcohol content - generally less than 10% alcohol by volume.

Vodka is a distilled liquor made from grain, and generally contains 40% alcohol by volume and up. It is supposed to be as close to odorless and tasteless as is feasible.

Whisky is a liquor distilled from grain mashes, like those used to make beer. It also generally has an alcohol content of 40% or higher, but unlike vodka it is supposed to have its own flavor.

vodka and whiskey are distilled beverages whereas beer is simply fermented barley.

The distinction between vodka and whiskey are more difficult. Whiskey is distilled from various grains

Scotch - Malted Barley

Bourbon - Corn

Rye - Rye

Vodka can actually be made from any of these (or potatoes, rice, wheat, rye.....etc). There are no rules here in terms of grain used for vodka.

The differentiator with whisky is the aging process. (and here each whisky is different). Some use new oak, some use charred oak.....etc. Vodka is not aged and is actually filtered (not done with whiskey)

beer is made from malted barley, usually with hops added. whisk(e)y is made from different types of grain (barley, corn, rye, wheat0 and can be thought of as distilled beer. most whisk(e)y is also aged in wood barrels. vodka is a distilled drink that can be made from grain, potatoes, fruit, or pretty much anything else. what distinguishes vodka from brandy, whisk(e)y and other spirits is that vodka is distilled to a much higher proof (usually 160+ proof) and is filtered in order to make it as flavorless as possible. it is then watered down to the proof it will be bottled at.

Vodka is a clear, neutral grain spirit, with little to no flavor.

Whiskey is a grain spirit aged in oak (hence the amber color), flavor varies depending on region (Scotland, Ireland, Canadian, American).

Beer is fermented, malted grain, mixed with hops, grains depend on region.

Vodka and Beer are inferior to Whiskeys superior deliciousness! And no Jack Daniels isn%26#039;t real whiskey....I%26#039;m talkin bout Canadian 80 proof. Just flush all that JD. okay in all seriousness....all 3 of them are addictive, poisonous, delicious social lube. Drink up

Vodka makes me mean , Whiskey makes me cry , And beer makes me jolly \,,/___(%26gt;.%26lt;)___\,,/

The consumption of Red Meat?

I keep on hearing and reading on articles that eating too much red meat can increase the chances of getting cancer, so why is this?

Now this might be a dumb question but is chicken considered red meat?

The reason i ask this is because i work out frequently and do not take any protein shakes. So all my protein comes from eating chicken, red meat and fish....along with other foods high in protein.

Is their an alternative to red meat in my situation?

Chicken and turkey are poultry, not red meat. Fish is also not read meat. Both will give you protein, and stock up on broccoli and other greens. If you're really concerned start downing those protein shakes.

Personally, I don't pay attention to what "causes cancer" anymore -- Apparently everything does. The other day I had a man tell me dairy causes cancer and does not really supply us with calcium, that's just a sales pitch. I don't want to live in a bubble, thanks. If it's offered, I'll take my cancer on a silver platter, with a side of red meat and cheese.

if you are that concerned with your health, then eating any meat other than red meat is probably better for you. fish, Chicken, shellfish, or the alternative such as peanuts or eggs is your best bet.

Chicken is considered white meat as is turkey.

Lamb, beef and pork are red meat.

All things in moderation, eat a balanced diet.

Lean red meat has a lot of good points if not overeaten.

NO chicken isn't red meat. But keep eating red meat its nothing too bad. Bad would be the shakes. keep eating natural.

Rice and Beans is a great source for protein.

everything at one point in time is said to be the cause ov cancer...

depends on what part ov the chicken ur eating...eat eggs! and tuna!

trust me, im a professional ;)

Does anyone else like strange foods?

Can you give me some quick easy ideas for leftover Phyllo dough?

I have about 1/2 of a pkg. left I really need to use. I need quick and easy..desserts or appetizers ideas would be great.

Hi: You could try using it as a crust over stew or thick soup (like Progresso Chicken Pot Pie soup). Just pour the stew / soup in a glass bakepan and cover with the buttered phyllo and bake around 350 till the crust is brown. My husband loves this! Good Luck!

My boyfriend loves when I make strudel out of leftover phylo or puff pastry... its also really easy to make spanikopita or turnovers with it. If you're a fan of nuts, try making a simple baklava... its delicious, and in my household it rarely lasts more than a few days.

You can fill with just about anything, sweet or savory. Just brush the layers with butter. Stack them up, place your filling in a line along the long edge, roll up and bake.

filo sandwich

filo pie

filo soup

grilled filo

filo smoothie

Jil, you really could've thought of these yourself. What are you? Stupid or something? Everybody knows how delicious filo sandwiches are.

As a topper for a fruit or meat pie, backlava rollups with honey and chopped walnuts, ham & cheese appetizers, baked.

I had these at Christmas, yummy. Brie cheese with a fruit of some sort and make a dumpling with the phyllo. I had cranberry or blueberry. They were DELICIOUS!

I agree with Colleen make a Strudel and some Spankopita. I love a good Spankopita with my Strudel.

Yeah..what they ^ said!!! ;-)

I'm sure kool-aid with acid in it would do the trick.

Should the drinking age be lowered to 18?

can't stop it anyway, gramps

i think that it should either be lowered to 18 or else the age at which you can be accepted into the military should change to 21. its a shame that half the men and women dying for our country arent even old enough to legally drink,

Who you calling gramps?

I think the drinking age should be lowered to 18, except for you, for whom it should raised to 25.

Does hearing effect your sense of taste?

Yeah ok so i was eating some cereal.

i went and i blew my nose and like couldn't hear out of either of my ears cuzz they like plugged up or w/e afterwords.

i took another bite, and the cereal like tasted differant. it wasn't idk i guess as tasty as before.

is there anything that says that hearing can some how effect the sense of taste?

Nope, but smell accounts for the majority of your taste. The difference in taste was from blowing your nose, not clogged ears.

The same stuff that's in your nose can get in your ears if you are sick or have sinus infection. That's why the food tasted different after blowing your nose, like you said your ears clogged up.

How long will a bottle of brandy keep for?

Me and my husband found an old bottle whilst clearing out cupboards, but I remember I bought it on duty free in 2002! Is it safe to drink after 7 years? It's sealed, unopened.

wine keeps for around 25 years so I think it should be fine

its safe and it actually tastes better.

4-ever?!?!? drink it up if ya get the shits it was probably bad!

Do you enjoy porridge for breakfast?

Yes last night I was thinking about having some for breakfast but now I've been to work I'm shattered and can't really be bothered.

Yes rice porridge with sweet potatoes is a special diet for morning & hot weather lunch. It can also be fish or meat porridge to give you better dilution and cooling effect for summer time. Top breakfast for the Chinese.....Teochew, Hokkien, Cantonese & Hakka.(Dialect groups).

Ilove my porridge in the morning, but not with sugar thats the way the English make it and the army doe's the same, it should be made with salt not sugar! who cares as long as you get your morning porridge. houndog9@ya

Oh yes.

But not as the english eat it.

A good bowl of it, lightly salted, rough oats - not the namby pampby little dusty things.

Magic start to the day.

Slow release energy too.

Sometimes I like traditional oats (a little salty with milk), but also like eating them raw with yoghurt.

I hate oats with sugar or anything else.

Absolutely love it. Just finished a lovely bowl of it, cheated this morning topped it with a bit of left- over cream. Gorgeous!

Traditional Scottish Recipes

- Abernethy Biscuits

Surprisingly, Abernethy biscuits do not get their name from the town in Perthshire but from a Dr Abernethy who suggested the addition of caraway seeds and sugar to plain biscuits. And of course a "biscuit" in America is a "cookie"!

Ingredients:

8 oz plain flour

3 oz caster sugar (granulated will do)

3 oz butter

Half a level teaspoon baking powder

Half a level teaspoon of caraway seeds

One tablespoon milk

One standard egg

Method:

Sift the flour and baking powder and rub in the butter until it is thoroughly mixed. Mix in the sugar and caraway seeds and then add the egg and milk to make a stiff dough.

Roll the mixture on a floured surface until it is the thickness required for a biscuit/cookie. Cut out with a three-inch plain cutter, rolling the trimmings to make more, as required. Prick the top of the biscuits with a fork and place on greased baking trays (cookie sheets) and bake in a pre-heated oven at 375F/190C/Gas Mark 5 for ten minutes until golden brown. After they have cooled, store in an airtight tin (unless you can't resist eating them all immediately!)

Traditional Scottish Recipes

- Apple Scone

There are many different varieties of scone - this one uses finely chopped apple to supply its flavour.

Main Ingredients:

One medium cooking apple

8 oz (250g or two cups) self raising flour (all-purpose flour with baking powder)

teaspoon salt

Level teaspoon baking powder

2 oz (60g or stick) butter

2 oz (60g or cup) castor (fine granulated) sugar

Up to pint (150ml or half cup) milk

Ingredients for glaze:

A little milk

1oz demerara (light brown) sugar

Method:

Pre-heat the oven to 200C (400F or Gas Mark 6).

Peel and core the apple and then finely chop. Sift together the flour, salt and baking powder. Then rub in the butter followed by the sugar and chopped apple and mix. Add milk until you have a soft but not sticky dough.

Roll out on a floured surface to about " thick and 8" round and mark into 8 wedges. Place on a greased baking sheet, brush the top with milk and sprinkle with the demerara (light brown) sugar. Bake in the pre-heated oven at 200C (400F or Gas Mark 6) for 20-25 minutes. Serve warm with butter.

On a Christmas shopping trip to Brisbane with my Australian wife, we bought an atlas for her daughter.

Mars bars are battered and deep-fried in some chip shops

On the train home, I passed the time by reading the atlas. Each country had a narrative describing its culture, people and customs, as well as the occasional quaint fact.

I read the quaint fact about Scotland and nearly fell out of my seat.

"Scotland has the worst diet of any developed country in the western world, and the highest incidence of heart disease," it said.

"One delicacy is the deep-fried chocolate bar, covered in a protective layer of batter, and favoured by the nation's school children."

"Who writes this garbage?" I groaned.

My wife grabbed the volume, eager to read the text which had so upset me.

Favourite snack

"Yes I remember that on television," she said.

I sat in silence and allowed my outrage to subside. I recalled the TV reports on both Scotland Today and Reporting Scotland, when reporters visited Scottish towns to cover the phenomenon of the "deep-fried Mars bar".

The chip shop owner was interviewed in a humorous vein. School pupils were filmed on their lunch break as they devoured their favourite snack and announced that it tasted "pure dead brilliant".

Why, oh why, does the Scottish media feel compelled to report these types of stories with such a light-hearted and 'wha's like us' slant?

The reporter performed the obligatory tasting. "Mmmm," he gushed. "It's not bad. Not bad at all."

"This report you saw on TV," I asked my wife. "Was it filmed from Scotland?"

"Sure," she said. "They were inside a food shop talking to the owner and some school kids."

Why, oh why, does the Scottish media feel compelled to report these types of stories with such a light-hearted and 'wha's like us' slant?

Is it any wonder that Scotland has such an appalling worldwide reputation for poor health and diet when, instead of condemning such harmful fare being offered up to our children, our television companies treat it as a "fun item" to be broadcast at the end of the programme.

When Celtic's Japanese star Shunsuke Nakamura arrived in Scotland and was being interviewed by a posse of reporters, one hack asked, amid much merriment from his fellow scribes, "Have you sampled a deep-fried Mars bar yet?"

Some may think I should chill out and see the lighter side, but when you read this sort of stuff about your own country from the other side of the world, it just ain't funny.

Scotland has a distinctive cuisine, often based on very traditional foods. Of the many culinary delights on offer, we list some of the more traditional Sco

I've been wondering this myself. I'm moving to scotland for a year for a job in the hospitality sector as a pastry chef. I google searched their dishes and their were some pretty interesting things I found out. Haggis, but if that isn't your cup of tea. As im sure, sheep heart, liver and intestines grounded up and seasoned with oats, onions and other spices.. and cooked in the animals stomach for 2-3 hours isn't something you are looking for.

They make these meat pie/pastry things. they sound pretty delish

Gee, maybe I should copy off a couple of pages of wikipedia and post. Sheesh...

You're not going to have much problem unless you're planning to eat at McDonalds the whole time. A typical 'big breakfast' is eggs, bread roll, beans, black pudding, bacon,a bap,and a baked tomato.

You can various 'rolls' for breakfast like a haggis roll, bacon roll , e.t.c For lunch there's always fish and chips with malt vinegar spread over everything. (BTW...the Scot's foods tend to be pretty greasy and way too much salt. No wonder they lead the UK in heart attacks. ) There's meat pies, salmon, Forfar bridies, kippers. A lot of the soups are good.

I happen to like haggis so I had that quit a few times. Always good to my taste. As Burns wrote :

"Ye Pow'rs wha mak mankind your care,

And dish them out their bill o' fare,

Auld Scotland wants nae skinking ware

That jaups in luggies;

But, if ye wish her gratefu' prayer,

Gie her a haggis! "

Well there is always Haggis, but I would stick with the wonderful seafood that you can get there.

Haggis (sounds gross to me), deep fried mars bars

Haggis, Kippers etc

Why does Tequila make you mean more than most alcohols?

Most people agree that tequila will give you a nasty edge. What's the science behind that?

Je ne sais pas.

no scientific basis for that claim. one reason might be that people often get cheaper tequila relative to other spirits, and a general rule is that the cheaper the alcohol, the lower quality it is, and that often means chemicals that higher-quality spirits have filtered out, and which have a negative effect. but there is no evidence that tequila makes you "meaner" than other spirits

It probably has more to do with the practice of throwing down tequila by the shot. I doubt you would see much difference in behavior between a margarita drinker and a whiskey sour drinker, though the belief in the aggressiveness of a tequila drunk can be a self-fulfilling prophecy..

There's no science behind it

It's a cultural stigma applied to a particular beverage

It's like saying dr pepper makes you angrier than coke does
